Short Biography:

José Manuel Cabral (JMC) was born in Porto, Portugal, in 1964.

He graduated in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the School of Engineering of the University of Porto (Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto), Portugal, in 1988.

He received his M.Sc. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, from the same School, in 1995.

In 2005 he received his Phd in Industrial Electronics, from School of Engineering of University of Minho.

From 1996 till 2005 he was a lecturer assistant at Industrial Electronics Department, University of Minho, and since then he is professor assistant at the same institution.

JMC was affiliated with INESC-TEC between 1987 and 1996. He has participated in several European research projects in areas such as high-speed communication networks, digital audio, optical communications and ATM networks.

His interests include Broadband Communications, IoT, Underwater Communications.
