On September 23, 2026, at 4:00 PM, the Inauguration Ceremony of the Governing Bodies of the Student Association of Industrial Electronics and Computer Engineering of the University of Minho (NEEICUM) for the 2026/2027 term took place in Auditorium 0.20, Building 2, Azurém Campus.

The event brought together students, faculty members, researchers, staff, and members of the academic community associated with the Department of Industrial Electronics, marking an important moment in the academic and student life of the University.

The ceremony was attended by the Vice-Rector of the University of Minho for Education and Academic Organization, Professor Cristina Dias, alongside faculty, researchers, staff, and students from the Department of Industrial Electronics.

Several speeches were delivered during the session by the outgoing NEEICUM President, Christian Garcia, the Vice-Rector Professor Cristina Dias, Eng. José Rui Gomes, representing the Department of Industrial Electronics, and the newly elected NEEICUM President, Ivo Castro.

In their remarks, the speakers highlighted the vital role played by NEEICUM in fostering student engagement, strengthening ties between students and the academic community, and promoting initiatives that enrich both the academic and personal development of Industrial Electronics and Computer Engineering students. Recognition was also given to the work accomplished during the previous term, while confidence was expressed in the newly elected team and its future contributions.
