Carlos Torres: Three Decades of Dedication to UMinho, Engineering and DEI
Carlos Torres, technician from the Department of Industrial Electronics (DEI) at the University of Minho, was awarded the medal for 30 years of public service, during the celebrations of the institution’s 51st anniversary. Born in France in 1969, but proudly Portuguese, he has worked at UMinho since 1994, where he specialized in the design and manufacture of printed circuit boards (PCBs), essential for the development of electronic equipment.
Throughout his career, Torres highlights the joy students experience when solving challenges and considers UMinho to be a space for sharing knowledge that has always welcomed him. In addition to his passion for electronics, he has a strong connection to music, being a fan of heavy metal and having been in a band for more than two decades.
With a career marked by commitment and enthusiasm, Carlos Torres intends to continue contributing to DEI until his retirement, always dedicated to teaching, technology and innovation.
