With deep regret, the Department of Industrial Electronics (DEI) of the University of Minho announces the death of Teacher Renato Morgado on December 15, 2024, an irreparable loss for our entire academic community.

Teacher Renato Morgado dedicated a large part of his life to the University of Minho in the Department of Industrial Electronics, where he stood out as an exemplary teacher and researcher. With a career marked by academic excellence, he contributed significantly to the development of the field of Industrial Electronics, leaving a legacy of knowledge and inspiration for students, colleagues and collaborators.

Throughout his career, Teacher Renato Morgado demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the training of future generations of engineers, as well as to the advancement of science and technology. His dedication and humanism will always be remembered by all who had the privilege of working with him or being his students.

In this time of grief, we extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who knew him.
