Teacher from the Department of Industrial Electronics at the University of Minho is the new president of the Portuguese Robotics Society
Braga, April 2025 — The Department of Industrial Electronics of the School of Engineering of the University of Minho is proud to celebrate the election of Professor Fernando Ribeiro as President of the Portuguese Robotics Society (SPR) for the 2025-2027 biennium.
Teacher of the Department of Industrial Electronics of the School of Engineering of the University of Minho, Fernando Ribeiro is a founding member of the SPR and has a remarkable career in the field of robotics. He had previously served as Vice-President of the Society and was now elected President with 100% of the votes in favor, in an unequivocal demonstration of recognition and trust from the scientific community.
This appointment represents not only an important milestone in his career, but also a source of pride for the entire University of Minho, reinforcing the institution’s role as a reference in research and innovation in engineering and emerging technologies.
The DEI board warmly congratulates Teacher Fernando Ribeiro on this achievement and wishes him a mandate full of success and advances for robotics in Portugal.
