José Rui Gomes, Informatics Specialist in the Industrial Electronics Department of the School of Engineering was elected President of APBI for a 3-year term.

The Portuguese Business Intelligence Association is a non-profit association, created in 2012 and formalized in February 2020, which aims to promote good practices in the areas of Business Intelligence and Big Data in Portugal. “The Business Intelligence area is evolving at a very fast pace and it is essential to reduce barriers in time and space,” said Rui Gomes. Therefore, APBI today launches the new APBI portal, in which all the bodies and projects of Business Intelligence and Big Data in Portugal will be released, whether for students, companies, professionals and institutions / universities.

Rui Gomes says: “In this mandate we will have the particularity of launching webinars, with the participation of several speakers from all over the country, where we intend to have a lot of expression and, thus, invite specialists in the area”. And he adds: “Our great challenge is already the realization of 3 major events in the area of ​​Business Intelligence, in the North, Center and South of Portugal, together with companies, institutions, students and government partners”.
