Electronic Engineering Conference at the University of Minho – February 17th to 20th, 2025

The Electronic Engineering Days (JEE) at the University of Minho are an event organized by students from the Student Center of the Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Electronic Engineering and Computers (LEEIC) and the Master’s degree in Industrial Electronic Engineering and Computers (MEEIC), with the aim of involving all students from the aforementioned courses with the business world in the area. The Days will allow participants to contact and visit some of the companies that may employ them in the future. The event has already had six highly successful editions, exceeding expectations from year to year, with growing support from both students and companies interested in participating, resulting in a very positive opinion on both sides.

The 7th edition will take place from the 17th to the 20th of February 2025, at the Azurém campus of the University of Minho, in Guimarães. The presence of 24 companies has already been confirmed, with the main sponsors being large companies such as Synopsys, DST Group, Inovaria, Petrotec, CEiiA, Vishay and Leica. On the 20th, depending on each participant’s preference, five company visit routes will be available:

Synopsys and CEiiA;
Aptiv and DST;
Centi and Leica;
Vishay and Control;
HFA and Petrotec.

The main themes to be addressed in this year’s edition, in a talk context, are: “Leadership in the Digital Era”, “Industry 4.0 vs 5.0”, “Artificial Intelligence and its Ethical Challenges” and “Electronics in Space”.

During the four days of JEE25, each dedicated to a specific topic, students will develop not only their technical skills, but also their soft skills. The program has:

Workshops, where students can deepen their knowledge on certain topics;
Conversations in a round table format with engineers from companies in which the area of ​​Electronics and IT is crucial, allowing students to learn about the day-to-day lives of these professionals;
Lectures on subjects related to the area of ​​Electronics and IT;
Speed-interviews, where students have the opportunity to experience a job interview in an agile format, allowing them to gain insight into what they may encounter in the future when applying for a professional opportunity;
A job fair, where you can network and clarify doubts and curiosities with the companies present;
A day of visits to the facilities of some companies, providing a unique opportunity for participants to obtain a first perspective of their operational reality. This experience allows for a more comprehensive understanding of the work environment and opportunities offered by these organizations.
